If you squeeze it tannins will be released, tannins are responsable of the nausea a lot of people get from tea and for the bitterness.

Cheers from Sweden! My favorites right now is pure green tea, Ceylon( top favorite cause of its honey notes) and I remember beeing very fond of "special blend", and even now I think because its very very lightly flavoured, the focus is the blend itself. /the best!

Thanks for this. Like many things I discovered this by accident. I put my tea bag in my steel water container, closed it up and forgot about it. When I came back to it... wow! what flavor! That extra brew time with a closed lid made all the difference. Now I just need to try the same thing with my water "just-off" boiling.

I am from northern Mexico where tea is normally drank ICE COLD. I recently started drinking English Breakfast following this method and I must say it is truly fantastic, will probably switch from coffee to tea from now on.

Tea is all about wasting water.

Tea should be brewed in a tea pot, never a cup . For god sake man , what’s wrong with you.. We’re not Cavemen here in Britain.. And you should have your pastry chef to make some biscuits to accompany your tea .. Just like everyone else in Britain does ..

Making from a teabag will never be perfect, loose leaf is always higher quality.

My understanding is you shouldn't squeeze the tea bag because you'll release extra tannins that can add a bitter taste to the tea.
